i5-3350p vs i7-3770Hello, I have an i5-3350p and an MSI GTX 760 4gb GPU and 8gb of ram. Now I like to play all my games while recording with Fraps, but I'd like to stay at a constant 60 FPS at 1440p. And I'm getting around 30-40 on Ultra Maxed settings on Borderlands 2. So my question is would an i7-3770 help or what other upgrades are needed to fulfill my request. Also I install my games on a 250gb Samsung 840 ssd and then record to a Seaggate Barracuda 1TB 7200 rpm HDD.

Meh, I would say just get a 780. Sli can cause hassles, afterall. And you don't need a new motherboard, Either. Important notice though, I would overclock the CPU a tad because it will definitely help your FPS. Because your CPU is a pretty good one, but the 780 is a beast so there might be a tad bottleneck. I would recommend this gpu -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130918Good clock speeds, good quality, and a great cooler. You could probably squeeze a bit more out of the gpu with a cooler like that.

i5 3350p working on 3.5ghz?So i got a i5 3350p yesterday from a friend, i know its rate is 3.1 to 3.3ghz, but every single cpu monitoring software shows that mine works on 3.5ghz max? how is that possible? i got a ASUS P8Z77-V LX and its got a turbo v evo option in asus software, but i havent turned it on? anyone knows? im just curious, not that it bothers me to get 200mhz bonus xD

It has imo to do with having a "Z" motherboard which has the ability to overclock.I think with this chip it has the ability to up the multiplier another two notches. You can look in the overclock section of the bios and look for the multiplier there,i think it will say max 35 which with a motherboard like this could be applied to all cores. There was a review of a site where they were overclocking a i5 2400 in which case they could up the "bins" x4 from stock speed (could even have been x4 over the max turbo now i think of it,they managed to reach ~4ghz at the end),means the multiplier, before reaching it max.I think Bittech, but google this you should be able to find it.You probably could play a little with the bclk to make it even faster, but that affects all sorts of speeds so look at that review first and other artikels about it.It's not recommended to do.

Core i5-3350p hitting high temperaturesRan prime95 for 5 minutes and the temp slowly climbed to 80 degrees C. I stopped it there because I was afraid of damaging the CPU.I have it in a super small mini-ITX case with sort of poor airflow and I'm using the stock cooler. Is this temperature acceptable? If not, will case fans solve it?If not, what cheap CPU cooler do I need to get?

I really don't think the CPU is defective. My suggestion would be to get some good aftermarket thermal paste and re-seat the cooler using that. It could be that something dig get messed up when you moved things around before. An aftermarket cooler is always an option but that seems a shame since the stock one should be fine. I'm not even sure what all would fit in that case. I don't think idle temps in the low 40's are totally unreasonable for a case with minimal airflow, neither is 65-70 load. It's those prime 95 temps that are bothering me.

Intel Core i5-3350P 3.10GHzI have a problem, I am currently using my pc to run games such as Battlefield 4, Wildlands etc. I want to be able to play the new games which are upcoming such as shadow of war etc. So i have decided to get a new graphics card which is called "ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 Dual OC 3 GB" Does my i5-3350p 3.10GHz limit the performance of gtx 1060 if i were to buy it? Or do i have to upgrade my processor aswell? I am really worried about this because if i spend the money for the new gpu, i also want to be able to run my games with a good fps.my pc specs-Gtx 670 3GBi5-3350P 3.10GHz8gb ram

If your playing at 1080P(which I'm assuming) most likely yes. It is well below even a 3770K.http://www.cpu-world.com/benchmarks/Intel/Core_i5-3350P.html

I5-3350p, the little chip that could, and does..I notice a lot of builders bypass the 3350p in favor of higher-end I5 and I7 chips but truth be told the little I5-3350p is a fantastic CPU offers the same or greater performance than much higher priced CPU's from Intel, where is the logic..
