i5-7400
  • i5-7400 er mer energieffektiv og genererer mindre varme.
i9-9900K

No way.... 2021 and It's IMPOSSIBLE to play!
Even with a i5 7400, 16gb RAM DDR4 2400 (dual channel) and a GTX 1660 TI on a BX500 SSD
It goes around 40-70 fps, It doesn't matter if is on High or Low.
This game is really BAD optmized.

i5 7400 Overclocking ?you see , my frine just bought a prebuilt pc with i5 7400 and 2gb gtx 1050 with 2x 4 gb 2400 mhz ram , he thinks being the cleverest he is , that the i5 7400 is overclockable obviously this i know is imposibble , but he said the guy that built his pc"s said his motherboard allows overclocking , is it true , that in some cases the i5 7400 is overclockable ? , and how ?because iam tired of him saying " i can overclock it later " as a reason not to buy the i5 7600/ 7600k and we had a debate over this for a frekin week , i just wanna know

non K suffix processor cannot be overclocked even if you dropped a non K processor into a Z series chipset. That being said, if your friend has a Z series chipset, the board will allow you to overclock provided you:a| Have a K suffix processorandb| Have ram that will allow for overclockingandc| Have ample cooling and power for the platformBest state your friend's specs like so:CPU:Motherboard:Ram:SSD/HDD:GPU:PSU:Chassis:OS:So we can put the final nail in that coffin.

I think that's a good choice. This is quite a significant difference....which is why I'm reposting it.Multithread Passmark Scoresi7-7700 10760i5-7400 7361 An i7-7700 is a more capable CPU and will also work better if you decide to upgrade your graphics in the future.

Overclocking i5 7400??Hi, im looking to understand how to overclock my CPU. The question being, Can i overclock it? Currently playing PUBG and only getting speeds of 3.27. Been informed that a higher speed CPU will help. Specs will be posted below. It runs fine as is, but i would like it to run at its bestCPU: i5 7400 @ 3.0Ghz OC to 3.3GhzMotherboard: Asus Z170M-E D3GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GBPSU: Antec 500w PRAM: 8GB 2x4GB Kingston 1600Mhz ddr3

The i5-7400 can't be overclocked. You need a "K" version of the CPU, such as an i5-7600K or an i7-7700K.

Upgrade from i5 7400 to i7 7700kHello guys!I am so so so undecided. So I am gonna need your help a little bit.Last year, in dec 2017 i built a new pc with: - i5 7400 + deepcool gammax v40- asus gpu rog gtx 1060 6gb 192bit- asus rog strix b250f- 8 gb adata xpg z1 2400mhz ram- 3 hdds and 1ssd but i am replacing the hdds soon with 1 ssd and 1tb hdd- thermaltake smart rgb series 600w psuOk so, with this specs, to be honest i just played a few months, like 2-3 months only, because i didn't had much time.. and during these games i got good fps and good temps with few little drops like big temps and kinda little laggy pc during multitasking (gaming + browsing the internet on chrome at the same time).. and now i am in a trip in the US and i found i7 7700k on amazon, on a good price at 340$, while in Romania that cpu costs 500$ .. and my whole pc build was around 600$, just a little bit over the i7 in my country. I paid for this i5 7400 like 150$. Ok so, after all this story, i found this i7 7700k a lot cheaper and i know that it has more clock speed like 4.2ghz and 4 cores, 8 threads (hyperthreading) unlike the i5 with 3.0ghz and turbo 3.5ghz and 4 cores only, and i am willing to buy it, but i dunno if it is going to worth, or it will be just some money thrown away. Even if i would like to buy it, i know that with this mobo i cannot OC it, so i am not willing to OC this cpu anyway at the moment.Or should i spend a little more on adding some extra ram?I am also ok with this i5, works fine, it does great besides my old fx 6300 black edition vishera.. i felt a huge difference.Any suggestions please? I have only couple of days remaining here so I want to know what should i do...

Memory compatibility can be tricky. Worst case you have to set everything manually, and if the timings don't match it will be difficult. You can mix 2x8GB and a 2x4GB kit if the voltages and timings match well enough. With two JEDEC profiles to choose from, it will default to the 1333 or 1600. As long as it boots you will be able to get into the BIOS and fiddle with it.If you want 16GB of memory, you can go ahead and buy it. Worst case, you just use the 16GB, best case you'll have 24GB. If you get another set of 8GB, and they don't work, you are stuck with two sets of 8GB.
