i5-3570

There is no upgrade you can do for £90 or even close to it that is WORTH doing really. I think it's a waste of your money and that you'll find you are still in a condition seriously hampered by a lack of CPU performance regardless what graphics card you go with.Honestly though, if you can find a Haswell refresh 4690, 4690k, 4790 or 4790k, or even a Haswell non-refresh i5 or i7 for a decent price along with a board, then that might be a good path that will allow you to still use your DDR3.Otherwise, any really worthwhile upgrade is going to require a new CPU, motherboard and memory. More like in the 250 range.Something like this would be a tremendous improvement. Save another £150 and you'd be a lot happier, for a lot longer, than with anything you can do on those old platforms.PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchantCPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1400 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor (£104.99 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: Asus - PRIME B450-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard (£89.99 @ AWD-IT) Memory: Team - Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (£59.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk) Total: £254.97Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when availableGenerated by PCPartPicker 2018-09-24 00:38 BST+0100

i5 3570 reaching 80c, driver's fault?Intel says it should max at 67.4c. I updated the cpu drivers a while back and I'd get stutters, slowdonws and freezes, and checked the temps with HWMonitor and all cores reached 80c after playing games. I don't have the restore point anymore. I learned updating drivers by habit is a bad thing. Is my best option a system reset? would this fix the bad drivers?

Hey,I suggest you:1) DELETE any of the software you added, then2) Use the Intel driver update: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/3) run CPU diagnostic: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool4) buy CPU cooler and setup fan profile with motherboard fan software (to reduce noise. Spend $30 or more for a nice system with GTX980 so you don't get added noise when gaming).Cryorig H7, CM Hyper 212 EVO, or Noctua NH-U12S (Noctua is a bit expensive but has a high quality fan)So...Don't add in software or drivers from other people unless CERTAIN they apply. Windows, or Intels driver update software, or the motherboard support site is usually all the sources you need.*If you still have problems then you may need to REINSTALL WINDOWS, but if so plan carefully so you don't lose data. Steam saves for example are usually in "My Documents" somewhere so I'd copy that folder somewhere (and copy saves back per game). The Steam "Steamapps" folder can be kept to reinstall Steam but I won't go into that here.

Is the i5 3570k worth it?I'm considering pairing a 3570k with a GTX 970 for things like PUBG, Battlefield 1, Witcher 3, Dota 2, etc. Is this worth the upgrade from a 6300? My other option is waiting a little longer and buying an i5 7600k kaby lake CPU. Is it worth it to wait? Thanks!

If you're at 1080p/60hz you would still ok with a 3570k. If you're trying to drive high framerate in bf1 it chokes a bit.

While that EVGA is better than what you have now but I wouldn't spend $50 for it. The 430w Seasonic is much better quality and $5 cheaper and will power a rx470 just fine, even an RX480 would be ok.https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-S12II-430-BRONZE-SS-430GB/dp/B002A17OG0For $55 you can get the 520w versionhttps://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-S12II-520-BRONZE-SS-520GB/dp/B00390P1NO

i5-3570k vs i7-2600kI currently have a i5-3570k. Looking to upgrade to an i7 due to the constant cpu hogging by BF1 on my i5. I can't afford to buy a new motherboard, i7 and DDR4 RAM so I am looking at upgrading to a 1155 i7, which is the same socket on my current mobo. There are quite a few 2600ks floating around for sale so this would likely be the one I'd end up with if its worth it. Would it improve cpu usage at all for BF1?Current specsi5-3570k on 4.2ghz16GB DDR3 RAM 1600mhzGeForce GTX980ti120gb SSD + various hard drivesThanks

This seems to work much better, although cpu still maxed at 100. Getting 60-80 fps. Sometimes drops below 60https://i.imgur.com/FTj3fMp.png
