Conclusion. After several days of gameplay and experimentation with dozens of apps, we’re addicted to the Acer Predator X27. Choosing this hardware for gaming is a no-brainer.
So i recently purchased the Almighty X27 but i have been facing flickering issue. It was less frequent to begin with but now it has increased! During gameplay screen goes off&on , sometimes 2-3 times in a row. I doubt its bcoz of refresh rate. I keep 98 Hz bcoz i read that this monitor doesn't supports full 10-bit hdr above 98 Hz. Although i tried 120 Hz too but same issue. Contacted Acer support, they sent a 3rd party technician who was an even bigger noob than i am! Didnt even know there is such a thing called DisplayPort! He concluded that it has to be taken to service center for investigation to which i am yet to reply but honestly dont want to do it. I feel its a small issue, something resolvable without entering the vicious circle of service centers. I was using supplied Ji-Haw 8k cable, the i switched to amazonbasics (for more length) , flickering happened in both. I have latest geforce & windows 10 drivers. Acer doesnt have any drivers for this monitor, yet.
9. OS : Windows 10 Home. Full retail version. (build 1809,latest updates installed.

Any Information on the Predator X27 or ROG Swift PG27UQ?
I've been holding off on purchasing a monitor for the past four years and had my hopes fixed on something that will last for a decade. That would mean a holy grail of 144hz, IPS, 4k, and G-synch/Freesync. I finally found it in these two monitors, but I have not heard any news about them in a year.
Does anyone know anything about a potential release date or other simular monitors?

ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ vs Predator X27
Just wanted to get some opinions here. Which is the better monitor to go with if you are a gamer? Is there even a video card out there right now that can run these monitors? From what I have been reading it doesn't look that way. So I would love to here peoples opinions on this matter.

Predator X27 or PG27uq for content creation, CAD, and casual gaming?
Looking for a monitor with 4K and 144hz, these came up as great candidates. I am looking to edit film with davinci resolve and eventually premier pro, as well as doing some 3D CAD work and casual gaming.
I'm leaning toward Asus, as I feel quantum dot will give better color space and the price is likely lower due to the lack of tobii eye tracking.
Specs: i5-7600k
ASUS Strix gtx 1060
Don't have an ssd yet but will be adding a Samsung 960 evo nvme.
I know renders won't be the fastest on the i5 but I am not going to be doing anything hardcore on a daily basis.
