I5 2320 Bottlenecking?Hi I have this old computer from my work with an I5 2320 @3.00 Ghz I was wondering how strong of a gpu I can run without it bottlenecking. The motherboard is pretty old too. It only has a PCI 2.0. Would I be able to get a Gpu such as the Gtx 760 or 770 an R9 280?

Sorry for the late reply.Anyway it really depends on how big the computer case is inside and if you can fit the card in the case. You may need to measure the free open area space around the PCIE lane and then you should tell us what PSU you have. Wattage isn't everything, you also need to factor in the amount of amps that the 12V rail can provide and brand of the PSU is very important. A good 500W can handle a GTX 780 but a mediocre 500W may barely or may not even handle a GTX 760. A cheap brand PSU most likely cannot or there is just huge risks involved. Also while the processor is good, you won't have optimal performance when paired with a 780 though its not that huge of a difference but it is different

Upgrade from i5-2320 to r5 1600Hey everyone, this is my first time here.So basically this is my current specs:Intel Core i5 2320 @ 3.00GHz 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHzMSI H61MA-E354095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970And I will not lie, this spec has served me very well in recent years.Up to now.In recent weeks my computer has been having a hard time with the new games coming out this year so I decided it was time for a serious upgrade.I thought about the following specs:AMD Ryzen 5 160016 GB DDR4 RAM 3000MHz (2*8)Gigabyte GA-AB350M-D3H OR Asus PRIME B350M-K4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970What do you think? Is this spec suitable for serious gaming and video editing? You might think of a better processor or motherboard ?

Best Graphics card for i5 2320My laptop got blown in a bad storm, very close lightning strike (we lost other electronics too). I have an Asus Essentio CM 6850 i5 2320 3.0 GHz with 12 GB RAM. It has an upgraded PSU to 600w. I am also running Windows 7 sp1. I don't want to upgrade to Windows 10.What is the best graphics card I can put on this for permanent home use AND until I can fix my laptop? I only play WoW which is med-low spec.

I think the GTX 950 would be a good card. The replacement GTX 1050 is rumored to be announced next month, but it sounds like you need a graphics card ASAP.EVGA GTX 950 SSC GAMING (model #: 02G-P4-2957-KR)$139.99 ($119.99 after $20.00 rebate card)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487158&ignorebbr=1

will a i5 2320 bottleneck a custom GTX 760XI just need to know because I may have to get a new CPU. but keep in mind that CPU IS almost 4 years old.system specs :Intel Core i5 2320 @ 3.3GHz8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAMUltra 550W PSUcustom GTX 760X overclocked 220.4GBASRock H61M-VG3Dual 1TB Seagate drives ( not raid )the game that is most hungry for all my stuff is Watch Dogs. I am using close to my full 2048MB RAM and 6GB of my 8GB RAM and all 4 cores are close to 100% and what I mean by using close to all 2GB is not even at 1920x1080 it is at 1440x900. And I get FPS stuttering, especially in the city but what should I upgrade

Not at all. Any motherboard you can get with that socket will have insufficient lanes for x16 x16 SLI, however x8 x 8 is used by thousands of systems and works very well with no limit. The Intel 1155 chipset (which the z77 motherboards are based on) only provides 16 PCIe lanes. Any decent mid-range motherboard will allow these lanes to be split between two PCIe slots, allowing each card to have x8 lanes. Some top end motherboards (like the gigabyte g1 sniper 3.) add a PLX chip which basically allows both cards to run at x16, BUT all it does is give the 16 lanes (which it's limited to by the processor) to whichever card needs it at the time. In otherwords, you don't have 32 lanes, you just have the full 16 given where they're needed. NOTE: the PLX chip does introduce a little latency which actually (very slightly) reduces your performance. The good news is that there are basically no real word situations where even top end cards require the full PCIe 3.0 x16 lanes. PCIe3.0 x8 is more than enough for any video card. Even if you get 2x GTX Titans or GTX980tis and OC theem, they'll run just fine on PCIe 3.0 x8 lanes.

I5 2320 compatible GPUs?CPU:Intel Core i5-2320 Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.0GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115091I was wondering what GPU would suit this card. My budget is 200$ or less(more if absolutely necessary). Thanks
