problem cpu upgrade i5-3330 to i7-3770I previously read comments suggesting I can swap out my i5-3330 cpu (in Dell inspiron 660) and install i7-3770 without changing the bios, (or anything else).I picked up a Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF has i7-3770 cpu. Both my Dell Inspiron 660 and Dell Optiplex 9010 were working nicely.I removed the i5-3330 cpu from Dell Inspiron 660 and installed the i7-3770. Applied new thermal grease, and that's it.I can turn the unit on and off using the switch, the activity light indicates the cpu does run through it's processes, but no signal to my screen.I haven't changed any drivers, all I have done is swap cpu's.They're both 3rd generation Intel and both computers are Dell, as I said.I haven't tried installing the i5-3330 into the Dell Optiplex because prefer not to get involved working on the 2nd computer until I establish the eventual result with the first one.So far the suggested easy swap has not materialized.Do I have to replace the old cpu to update bios? Do I have to replace the old cpu before I can (hopefully) fix this some other way?I'm hoping someone who actually understands what is required here will be so kind as to step in and help me out with some proper guidance (cause I'm lost). Thanks, So stuck!PS - The 660 is running Win10 Home; 16GB PC3L12800; EVGA GeForce GTX1050Ti; 1TB hdd if that matters.Motherboard for Inspiron 660 is: Vostro 270 MIB75R/ MH_SG MLK 11068-1Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF Small Form Factor DDR3 Motherboard System Board Part No: 51FJ8I don't really understand how to compare these motherboards, what I was going by is:Both cpu's use Socket LGA 1155Both 77Watts

Yes, "socket compatible" does not necessarily mean it'll just "work" - especially from OEM setups.Consumer retail boards, if a socket compatible chip is not supported via BIOS rev.1, chances are good an update will be provided to enable support.OEM's though, only "support" their product. Their product is what ships from the factory(ies). If they only sold an i3 and an i5, that's all they expect to be run in those boards.

H61M-P23 (B3) i5 3330 4 beepsGood day, with this motherboard I normally use my i3 2100, and ofcourse I would like to use a bit of a better CPU so I got hold of my girlfriends old CPU which is the i5 3330. But when ever I try boot it up it will give me 4 quick beeps and then restart the machine a few seconds after that and it will just loop from there onwards. Now I've first looked on the web what it could be and it comes up with unsupported CPU... and to make sure about that again I did some research and it says the my MoBo does support the i5 3330.Can anyone please help me with this one?

There actually aren't many 4k G-sync monitors on the market as of yet, you'd be better off running 1440p res and buying something like this http://www.amazon.com/PG278Q-2560x1440-DisplayPort-Ergonomic-Back-lit/dp/B00MSOND8C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442409405&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+pg279qI found this acer monitor thats 4k Gsync enabled: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009658

i5-3330 with HD 7850 or i3-3220 with HD 7870?i'm a about to build a new PC and I'm confused, i will play at resolution 1440x900 .. wich will be better for solid and newish games and give me good FPS.. The i5-3330 with an HD 7850, or i3-3220 with HD 7870another question: how long the HD 7850 will last for playing the new upcoming games?, i dunno wich one will die sooner, the HD 7850 or the i3-3220?

i might play at 1360x768, or 1440x900..still would be more GPU intensive? I reckon It will be more GPU intensive in all games as that resolution on ultra and high settings will push a graphics card more to power your screen. Play at 1440x900 as it is a much better resolution to game at with a 7870. I have done looking online and I still think that an AMD FX 6200 will do slightly better than i3 3220 since it has 6 cores compared to the i3's dual. More games are needing more cores and since this AMD core is the same price as the i3, might as well give it a try. If you are planning on upgrading the i3 in the future then i would suggest buying it as Intel are far better for gaming than AMD. If you went AMD then you would need to change the socket to AM3 and if you wanted to change back to intel in the future, you would have to buy an intel chip as well as a new motherboard. Your choice.....

will i go for i5-3330?i was about to buy an i3-3220, but i heard many talking made me confused, that the i3 might bottleneck the HD 7850, and it will not be enough for the upcoming games..so if i go for the i5-3330 would it worth it?, how far i'll notice a better performance than the i3 by percentage?, and how long the i5-3330 will live with me in newish games coming?, i will play at 1366x768, or 1440x900, max res. i could go for 1600x1200intel core i5-3330, SAPHIRRE HD 7850 1 GB DDR5 , Ram 4 giga or maybe 6 DDR5, PSU: Gamma 500 Watt

Sounds to me like you've already made up your mind and are looking for someone to tell you to go a head and do it. You could probably play BF4 on high with a 7850 at a lower resolution but you'll be limited by that lower resolution for how good the graphics will look. It is entirely your call but also consider trying to save up 40.00 more and get a 7870 with your i5. Or if you can afford it, get the 7870 XT (or tahiti LE, same card) or a 7950 (they are dirt cheap right now).Either way, if you are ok with dropping the resolution the 7850 would do the job for the next year or two with high settings.
