27" ASUS MX279HS gaming monitor performance benchmarks: response, input and full specs review

The ASUS MX279HS is a relatively new monitor. For graphics color quality, the ASUS MX279HS has an excellent color depth of 8 -bit, resulting in smoother gradients and more accurate colors. The monitor panel has good viewing angles and offers better contrast and colors than TN panels. The ASUS MX279HS has no Display Port and which is essential for NVIDIA cards to work with AMD FreeSync. The monitor does not have a VESA mount. The minimum response rate of ASUS MX279HS is 10.1 ms, which is can cause ghosting effects. For the average response rate, the ASUS MX279HS scores 18.3 ms, which can cause motion blurring due to ineffective synchronization with the high refresh rate. The brightness of ASUS MX279HS is lower than other monitors. The monitor has an unimpressive contrast ratio of 1073 : 1. Graphically demanding games may cause frame drops outside the adative refresh rate of 60 Hz. The ASUS MX279HS has a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz and this may be too low for the extremely fast frame rates in competitive games. In terms of pixel density, the ASUS MX279HS has an low density of 82 pixels-per-inch, resulting in pixelated text and picture quality. ASUS MX279HS has a total input lag of 28.8 ms, which is bad among the competition. Without the AMD FreeSync support, this monitor is not compatible with AMD graphics cards.
