27" ViewSonic XG2703-GS gaming monitor performance benchmarks: response, input and full specs review

For graphics color quality, the ViewSonic XG2703-GS has an excellent color depth of 8 -bit, resulting in smoother gradients and more accurate colors. For the extremely fast frame rates, the ViewSonic XG2703-GS has a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz that allows smoother gameplay. In terms of pixel density, the ViewSonic XG2703-GS has an excellent density of 109 pixels-per-inch, resulting in sharper text and picture quality. The monitor panel has good viewing angles and offers better contrast and colors than TN panels. The ViewSonic XG2703-GS has the Display Port and this is essential for NVIDIA cards to work with AMD FreeSync. To compensate for graphically demanding games, the ViewSonic XG2703-GS has a very good low end adaptive refresh rate of 24 Hz that can adapt to more lower frame rate drops. The monitor has a VESA mount. The minimum response rate of ViewSonic XG2703-GS is 4 ms, which is can cause ghosting effects. For the average response rate, the ViewSonic XG2703-GS scores 12 ms, which can cause motion blurring due to ineffective synchronization with the high refresh rate. Without the AMD FreeSync support, this monitor is not compatible with AMD graphics cards. ViewSonic XG2703-GS has a total input lag of 15.5 ms, which is bad among the competition. The monitor has an unimpressive contrast ratio of 1000 : 1. The brightness of ViewSonic XG2703-GS is lower than other monitors. It is worth noting that the ViewSonic XG2703-GS is a relatively old monitor.

Won ViewSonic XG2703-GS but have AMD graphics card. Should I upgrade to NVIDIA?
ViewSonic XG2703-GS is an expensive monitor that I won on a raffle and features NVIDIA G-SYNC technology. Unfortunately I have MSI Radeon R9 390X 8GB Video Card, which is AMD and therefore can't take advantage of the G-sync.

So my question is, should I upgrade to a graphics card that is NVIDIA? I bought the AMD card little more than 2 years ago for $380 so I figure maybe it's time to upgrade.

1440p 165hz monitor

you need an upgrade not only because of th g-sync but also because the 390x is utterly inadequate to run that resolution and refresh rate

you want a gtx 1080 ti for it, make sure the rest of your pc specs can handle it

if not just sell the monitor

[WTS] [USA-MO] Viewsonic XG2703-GS (IPS, Gsync, 1440p, 165hz monitor)
Hello guys! Selling my IPS, Gsync, 1440p, 165hz panel, the Viewsonic XG2703-GS. It shares the same panel as the PG279Q with a few tweaks (a bit better contrast, and better 1080p scaling.) It doesn't have any issues with BLB, not too much IPS glow, and no dead pixels.

I am pricing it at $500 shipped, CONUS only.
