What do you think of the monitor [ASUS VG278Q]
I can get it pretty cheap, just one question regarding those who may be familiar with this monitor, do the colours look good? If not can I change them so they live up to standard gaming expectations?

I'm pretty sure I have this monitor in 24" I've had it for a few years. I'm pretty happy with it. On my monitor it will not operate above 60Hz over HDMI. So you'll definitely want display port to drive this monitor.

The colors are good. If you are doing word processing or other office tasks the monitor is just too bright for me even in the "night mode." For gaming it's pretty good.

The VG278Q supports up to 120 Hz over HDMI according to its manual.

Maximum of HDMI 1.4 at 1080p is 144 Hz (not 120) although it depends on what the monitor manufacturer implements. In this case, the monitor supports up to 120 Hz.

Asus VG278Q vs Asus PG278Q
Hello guys,

I am looking for a budget gaming monitor. I want 144hz. IPS and Gsync are not important to me.

I can't affor a Asus PG278Q and I've been looking at the Asus VG278Q.

I found absolutely no reviews about this model.

Can somebody tell me the difference between the Asus VG278Q and Asus PG278Q?

The only differences I see is:

- PG278Q costs 2x more than Asus VG278Q

- PG278Q is 1440p and the other 1080p. (I already have a 27inch 1080p monitor and I don't see the blurryness everybody is talking about. So 27 inch at 1080p is ok)

- Asus VG278Q has freesync while Asus PG278Q has gsync.

Everything else looks the same to me.

Any ideas?

Also if you think there are better choices for a cheap gaming monitor that is 27 inch and 144hz let me know.
