Overclocking a Core2 Duo e6600.I have Dell Precision 390 with a Core 2 duo e6600 i975 chipset and socket 775 LGA and DDR2-667 MHz 1*2=2gb ram. as you know that i cannot overclock it from bios cause its a OEM, So help me using a software. And using the stock cooler to overclock. Which software is best for Overclocking Core 2 Duo's? i want it from 2.4 to 2.5 in stock cooler.

On newer boards there is a system called OC Genie (although I don't recommend using this if you if you have a newer chipset) to overclock your CPU, GPU, and RAM. As you have an older board, this feature isn't available. As stavrosmast said, the stock cooler will do no good in cooling your CPU if you're overclocking. If you really want to overclock without frying your CPU, I'd get the Hyper EVO 212 CPU cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099).

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz?My PC is like 6+ years old and it has an Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 ghz cpu (non-OC) on a DP965LT mobo. I'll soon update my video card. I currently has an nx8400gs which sux hard. I'll buy an asus gtx750ti 2gb. So, with my CPU and new GPU how will the following games run on maxed settings @ 1080p? At what average fps approx.?1. Battlefield 4 2. GTA IV (latest patch + eflc dlc)3. GTA V (when it comes out)

That isn't going to happen. I had a Q6600 with a HD7950 boost and it wasn't able to run GTA IV maxed out in 1080p. I had to bring almost all the settings down to medium or high to get at least 30 FPS. The 750ti is a good midrange GPU but you are definitely being optimistic about it. If you want anything close to maxed out in any of these games, you would need a minimum of a GTX 770 or 280x and a quad core Intel CPU. The 750ti should be good for medium to medium-high in most newer AAA games like BF4 and GTA4 no matter what CPU you have.

      Will a Core2Duo E6600 bottleneck a GT 730 card?Hi, I just need a cheaper graphics card for my system. Here's my current specs:Core2Duo e6600 OC to 3.2Ghz2GB DDR2 RAM ( maxed motherboard amount)8400gs GPU (256mb vram)the 8400 is bottle necking the cpuThe GT 710 has 2GB DDR5 vram, where as the GT 730 has 2GB ddr3 vram.Should i get the gt 710 instead?

A GT 730 is pretty much too slow for any likely CPU to bottleneck. The VRAM only really matters in comparable GPUs, the 730 is better than the 710.

Hi VarunThe E6600 is the better bet due to it's newer design. It can also be overclocked a little to provide better performance.
