  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
Ryzen 5 2600
  • The Ryzen 5 2600 has higher Level 2 Cache. Data/instructions which have to be processed can be loaded from the fast L2 and the CPU does not have to wait for the very slow DDR RAM
  • The Ryzen 5 2600 has higher Level 3 Cache. This is useful when you have substantial multiprocessing workloads, many computationally intense simultaneous processes. More likely on a server, less on a personally used computer for interactive desktop workloads.
  • The Ryzen 5 2600 has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
  • The Ryzen 5 2600 has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • The Ryzen 5 2600 is more power efficient and generates less heat.
  • The Ryzen 5 2600 has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.

i5 4670K Vs. i7 4770KOk, so I'm going to build a computer soon and I am still not sure whether to go with the i5 or the i7. I will be gaming and making videos for school and YouTube. I will be playing games like BF4 & 3, Bioshock Infinite, Arma 2 & 3, Dayz, Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 & 2, Crysis 3, Mirrors Edge, Titanfall, The Crew (When it comes out) and maybe GTA 5 (If it ever comes out for PC). Sorry if I didn't include some crucial info. Thanks in advance :P

Since you have included the information that you may be creating videos, you'll likely see better performance with the i7. In the games, you will perhaps only see a few fps gained by going with the i7 over the i5.It should be noted that both of these will do very well in the tasks you're looking at, just that the i7 will be slightly better, so it becomes a budgetary concern. Is the cost increase worth the small performance increase? Also, the i7 will invariably be more future-proof.If you can afford to, I always recommend going with the more powerful product. Not only is it likely to last you longer, but you'll feel better yourself for buying it. As humans, we often look back at when we didn't go for the best possible option with a little tinge of regret. Grab the i7 if possible and check out the review of the new Intel chips on the main page, you'll find that in bagging that particular chip, you've pretty much got the best gaming chip for the money right now.

Drivers can have a large impact on performance. I would go to asrocks website and download any of the drivers that you may need and install them; however, your Windows score only dropped by .1 which is absolutely negligible. As said, the WEI honestly does not mean anything. When I was using the iGPU, my HD4600 was in the 6-7 range for graphics if that tells you anything. Unless you are noticing real world performance issues I would not worry about it. Do not fake yourself into seeing performance "issues" just because the WEI dropped.

i7 3770k or i7 4770k?I am having a tough time deciding which cpu to get. I know the 4770k is more future proof and more powerful than the 3770k, but the 4770k has higher temperatures and worse overclocking than the 3770k. The 3770k has better overclocking and better temperatures than 4770k but the 3770k is older and less future proof. It is hard for me to choose which cpu because they are both really good despite their disadvantages. So I really could use some help on deciding which cpu is the best.

Did you note the bit where @DoubleClick noted that a Devil's Canyon CPU (such as your 4790K) will only work in a z87 board after a bios update? That's important. You can read up on it a bit more here: http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/intel-devil%E2%80%99s-canyon-can-be-used-on-the-z87-motherboard-chipset.htmlIt sounds like you will need a BIOS update. Some Asus MBs actually support it without a (compatible) CPU installed, but the Z87-a isn't listed. Source: http://www.asus.com/microsite/2014/MB/New_4th_gen_Intel_processor_compatibility/Do you have access to another Haswell CPU? Because as I understand it you'll need you to update the BIOS before you can POST with a Devil's Canyon CPU.What's the price difference to the Z97 board? I'd be spending the little extra myself!

i7 4790s vs i7 4770kWhich i7 cpu should I get? Which cpu has the best performance, temperatures, etc?

Okay in terms of performance they go as follows.1. 4790k2. 4770k3. 4790s4. Xion E3-1230V3The reason for this, is that the 4790s is a low power CPU. Its only a 65w TDP while the 4770K is an 84w TDP and uses much more power. The 4790s at stock has better single threaded performance at 4Ghz, compared to the 4770ks 3.9Ghz, and as a result might have slightly higher performance in some situations by 100Mhz. However, the base speed of the 4790s is 3.2Ghz and the i7-4770k is 3.5Ghz, which means if the CPU is running hot or there is a lot of heat in the case or something and it won't turbo and then the i7-4770k is going to be faster by 300Mhz.On top of that, the i7-4770k can be overclocked and usually can reach 4.2Ghz easily which will make it faster than the 4790s in all situations, and that is a pretty low weak overclock.

i7 4770K vs i7 4930Kim thinking of buying a new computer and im am a little confused.i was interested in buying the i7 4770K with Asus ROG VI Extreme with SLInow that Ivy Bridge-E has come out i've been looking at the 4930K which is a six core, but that is a 2011 chipset which is the Asus Rog IV.i know the six core is better but what is the difference between the ROG IV and VI?Is the i7 4770K with ROG VI better than the 4930K with ROG IV in terms of value?

For gaming, the i7 4770k is as high end as it gets. Seriously, there is no need to spend more than that.Even for dual GPU's the 4770k is good enough.
