i7-8700K
  • The i7-8700K has higher Level 2 Cache. Data/instructions which have to be processed can be loaded from the fast L2 and the CPU does not have to wait for the very slow DDR RAM
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The i7-8700K is more power efficient and generates less heat.
  • The i7-8700K has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.
i5-14600K
  • The i5-14600K has higher Level 3 Cache. This is useful when you have substantial multiprocessing workloads, many computationally intense simultaneous processes. More likely on a server, less on a personally used computer for interactive desktop workloads.
  • The i5-14600K has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.

I9 9900k/i7 9700k or i7 8700kHey folks.I resently sold my i5 6600 with some other stuff expecting to upgrade when the 9th Gen Intel chips released. (which I thought was September 1st. Not October..) now the question is? Should I wait for October and watch the price fall of the i7 8700k or pay more and get the 9th Gen. My budget is only capable of the pricerange of the i7 8700k. Is it worth to wait and see the change in price? Or?

i7 4790 or i7 8700kHi all , I'm currently using a i7 4790 with a 1080ti ,16gb 1600 ram @ 1440p 144hz , no massive issues just feel i should be getting more fps from my card (60-80 fps on new tombraider ultra , 60/70 on AC origins drops below 50 sometimes on ultra)I've been looking at i7 8700k mobo 16gb ddr4 bundles for and £700 would i get much benefit from this expensive upgrade?

i7 8700 vs i7 8700K(No overclocking)I have been using the i5 4590 and now I am going for a full upgrade which includes RAM,MOB etc.The internet is blowing up about how awesome the i7 8700K is for gaming but nobody seems to talk about the i7 8700.Can someone please tell me which one to go for,the non K version or the K version. Please keep in mind that I will not be overclocking even if I get the K version and will the difference in gaming performance be significant when both CPUs are running at stock settings.

I5 9600K vs I7 8700KI have just upgraded to a 1080 TI and I will be needing a new CPU to go with it. Right now I am thinking about one of these two. Cant seem to find many great benchmark comparisons between them. The I5 9600K is about 70 euroes cheaper, but is it worth it to spend the extra 70 euroes for the 8700K?I am gaming on 1080p 144hz.

I7-8700k too hot?So I recently installed an i7-8700k with a Hyper Evo 212 as the cooler and I'm not sure if my temps are where they should be, also before asked yes its running at stock and not overclocked. When I check the bios after a shut down shortly after following a game being played, it says its at 60-63 or so. But when I'm using programs such as HWinfo or CPUID HwMonitor, it says that sometimes my maximum it hits is like 78-80 or so while staying at around 60ish.Today is relatively a hotter day then usual in California (93 degrees) So I'm not sure if that comes into play. Or if I potentially seated my Evo incorrectly? Not sure.I have an AsRock Z370 mPro4 as my motherboard and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I7 8700k or i5 8600k for gamingHi, it's my first time building a pc so I have very little knowledge about processors. Both the i7 8700k and i5 8600k have similar single core and quad core performance according to user benchmark, I have heard that most games don't use more than 4 cores. So I'll be playing in a 1440p 144hz IPS g-sync monitor with GTX 1080 and mostly games like counter strike, pubg and fortnite
