No "set affinity" option for fx 6300 six core?In Windows 10, when I open the task manager on my local/admin account, there is no option to set affinity when I right-click any executables on the processes tab. Device manager is showing all six cores. What's going on?Thanks

Go to the details tab, from there you can set affinity, but why do you want to do that?Windows 10 has a very good scheduler so things run flawlessly.

Six cores 3.6GHZ OR Twelve cores 1.8GHZ ?As it says , Which one to get ?Six Cores 3.6G Xeon , or 12 Cores 1.8G Xeon ?Why am I asking this ? simple , six 3.5G in HT will give 12 Logical cores each Logical running at 1.8G which is the same of the 12 cores if I disable HT there (for most programs never use allot of threads )The Gain ? well the 3.6Ghz Xeon TDP is 140 watts while the 12 cores 1.8Ghz Xeon TDP is only 65 watts ... if they both give the same performance ... I would choose the 12 cores and disable HT in them.

Is there a specific reason you're trying to keep the power use down to a minimum? Is the enclosure going to be very small or not well ventilated? Also, theoretically each cpu has the same performance, but that's only if every single program you use can take advantage of 12 cores. If the program can only take advantage of 11 cores or less, then you're better off getting the 6-core version if you want to maximize speed. If efficiency is your main goal, then you'd have to calculate how much more time you spend on each task and combine that data with the difference in power use.

B350 would be the best way to go from a cost perspective. As has been mentioned, any major manufacturer will be fine. I'm personally fond of MSI and have built several rigs with their components and have not once been disappointed in what I got from a performance or cost standpoint.

Is a six core processor worth it?Hello,I am wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade from a four core processor to a six core processor for gaming. I do not really do any photo editing or anything like that so that is why I am wondering if a six core processor would benefit me in any way? Also would I be better off having a six core processor for future game or just for the future in general?

If you don't do anything that requires a six core processor now then it isn't worth it. Most games still don't make full use of a quad core CPU so moving up to six cores will gain you almost nothing. You will see more impressive results by moving to a SSD or upgrading the GPU.

Neither of those. Get an 8320, about same price as the 6350 for much better performance. The 6350 is a 6300 with a higher clock rate that can be achieved with overclocking easily. The A10 is a good CPU for office work, but not gaming. The 8320 is an 8 core with good performance.
