24.5" HP Omen 25 gaming monitor performance benchmarks: response, input and full specs review

The HP Omen 25 is a relatively new monitor. In terms of pixel density, the HP Omen 25 has an excellent density of 89 pixels-per-inch, resulting in sharper text and picture quality. For the extremely fast frame rates, the HP Omen 25 has a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz that allows smoother gameplay. The brightness of HP Omen 25 is significantly better than other monitors. The HP Omen 25 has the Display Port and this is essential for NVIDIA cards to work with AMD FreeSync. The minimum response rate of HP Omen 25 is 1 ms, which is eliminates ghosting effects. The monitor has a VESA mount. For the average response rate, the HP Omen 25 scores 4 ms, which ensures effective synchronization with the high refresh rate. With the AMD FreeSync support, this monitor is compatible with both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. To compensate for graphically demanding games, the HP Omen 25 has a very good low end adaptive refresh rate of 42 Hz that can adapt to more lower frame rate drops. HP Omen 25 has a total input lag of 14.5 ms, which is excellent among the competition. For graphics color quality, the HP Omen 25 has an average color depth of 6 -bit, resulting in dithered gradients and more slightly less accurate colors. The monitor has an unimpressive contrast ratio of 1000 : 1. The monitor uses a TN panel which suffers from color shifting when viewed from horizontal and vertical angles and has slightly washed colors compared to IPS and VA panels.

Which 144hz To Buy? Asus VG248QE or HP Omen 25
Hello All,

I was looking to expand/upgrade my set up.

I currently own two BenQs and I am looking to upgrade to 144hz but would like them all to match. My OCD is kicking in having different monitors ahhhh.

I wanted to ask the community what you all recommended?

Asus VG248QE or HP Omen 25?

Omen is on sale for 220.00 and can get it even cheaper refurbished. Asus has been about the same price for ever, around 250-260-ish, although I did just purchase a refurb of this for $185 on eBay.

I could careless about the 3D. 3D is dead.

Which has a better picture and color scheme? Like more vibrant colors? HP Omen 25 or the Asus VG248QE? I have been testing the Asus VG248QE for a couple days now and it just seems that the coloring is a bit faded looking.

I have storm trooper wallpaper and the storm trooper isnt even white... Its more like a faded white beige-ish.

Thank you so much for your input! I look forward to seeing your responses!

Out of the two you linked to, the Asus has a much nicer stand, featuring tilt, swivel, height and pivot adjustments, along with VESA mounts in case you ever wanted to attach a third-party stand or wall mount, so it should allow you to position it more optimally. The HP's stand, on the other hand, only let's you adjust tilt, and doesn't seem to support VESA mounts either.

As for the color, have you gone through the screen's settings and adjusted them? There's most likely different color temperatures, brightness settings and so on that will make the image appear different.

Also, what model were your BenQs? It's possible they could have had VA or IPS panels, which tend to have superior colors, as the previous post pointed out. There are some 144 Hz monitors using those kinds of panels in this price range as well, such as this curved VA MSI Optix screen...
