GTX 580 benchmark with i7-975 1080p, 1440p, Ultrawide, 4K benchmarks at Ultra Quality

It is worth noting that the GTX 580 is a very power hungry card and requires a decent power supply unit. With current 1536 MB RAM, the GTX 580 can have serious memory-related bottlenecks in more modern games. It is important to know that GTX 580 's max load temperature is very high and might require custom cooling solutions. This combination between GTX 580 and Intel Core i7-975 @ 3.33GHz has less than 15% bottleneck in many games and can cause minor FPS loss.

The GTX 590 might be the extreme flagship of the latest Fermi 2.0 set of graphics cards, but their prices keep them out of the reach of most high-end PC gamers. On the other hand, the GTX 580 is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 499. NVIDIA ’s xx80 cards have always been defined by high-end prices with performance that knocks on the door of extreme graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Fermi 2.0 graphics card inside the GTX 580, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend.

Spec for spec, this GTX 580 leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 480, by boasting 48.6 % more fps. Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The GTX 580 consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 480 and it really justifies an upgrade.

For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Valorant at 64 fps to 64 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 64 fps.

Critics Reviews

NVIDIA's new GeForce GTX 580 feels to deliver what I would have expected from the original GTX 480. The card is blazing fast, especially in newer DX11 titles it often beats AMD's dual-GPU flagship Radeon HD 5970.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 - Verdict So here it is, the fastest DirectX 11 graphics card around today. No caveats here. There's none of the GTX 480's distraction over the dual-GPU HD 5970: this is as ...
Today NVIDIA releases their new GeForce GTX 580 which is based on their Fermi architecture. The card is 20% faster than the GTX 480, yet requires less power. NVIDIA has also optimized fan noise making this the quietest highest-end card on the market today.
When the GeForce GTX 580 arrived, it extended NVIDIA's lead in the single-GPU graphics card market. Although the green team's own GTX 480 previously held the title of fastest single-GPU, its reign ...
GTX 580 is the first member of the GeForce 500 series, giving it the distinction of setting precedent for the rest of the family that NVIDIA claims will soon follow.

Nvidia's inaugural DirectX 11 card, the GeForce GTX 480, was a little broken, so Nvidia has been beavering away for most of this year trying to fix it. In terms of performance, though, the GTX 480 ...
Nvidia's new top-tier video card, the GeForce GTX 580, is the first to take full advantage of the Fermi architecture's capabilities—and it was well worth waiting for.
The extra SM (and PolyMorph engine) works in concert with higher clocks to give the GeForce GTX 580 a fairly commanding win over the 480 with tessellation set to Extreme in this test.
