NVIDIA ’s xx60 cards have always been defined by entry-level prices with performance that knocks on the door of mid-range graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Turing graphics card inside the GTX 1660 Ti, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend. Spec for spec, this GTX 1660 Ti leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 1060 6GB, by boasting 43.7 % more fps.
In our synthetic benchmarks, the GTX 1660 Ti blows past the GTX 1060 6GB and, amazingly, even the GTX 1070 as well. Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The GTX 1660 Ti consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 1060 6GB and it really justifies an upgrade.
For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Borderlands 3, Baldur's Gate 3, Armored Core VI, F1 22, Anthem at 62 fps to 66 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 63 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play GreedFall, Hitman 2, Death Stranding, F1 2019, Spider-Man Remastered at 64 fps to 70 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 68 fps.
For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Overwatch 2, Valorant at 66 fps to 139 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 102 fps.
The GTX 1660 Ti sits between the RX Vega 56 and the RTX 3050, falling slower than RX Vega 56 by 1.6% and faster than RTX 3050 by 1.1%. It has an average relative performance against every graphics card here. Its results are actually indistinguishable from those of the RX Vega 56. In addition, the GTX 1660 Ti was also faster than the GTX 1060 6GB by a good margin. When compared to its lower sibling - the GTX 1650 - we see a more than 20% faster performance for the GTX 1660 Ti.
The GTX 1660 Ti sits between the RX 5700 and the RX 5600 XT, falling slower than RX 5700 by 1% and faster than RX 5600 XT by 0.8%. It has an average relative performance against every graphics card here. Its results are actually indistinguishable from those of the RX 5700. In addition, the GTX 1660 Ti was also faster than the GTX 1060 6GB by a good margin. When compared to its lower sibling - the GTX 1650 - we see a more than 20% faster performance for the GTX 1660 Ti.

If your CPU is i7-7700K then go for 2060 / 2070, when it's 2600K and you want to upgrade your current graphics card, then 1660 or 1660TI is good.

The RTX 2060 is more expensive than the GTX 1660 Ti, but it's well worth spending more than you initially wanted to. Why I recommend this is the RTX 2060 offers more performance for the money and would hold up longer over time before needing to be replaced. With the GTX 1660 Ti, you're likely to replace it sometime in the future if you wish to move up to 1440p and 4K gaming.
While the GTX 1660 Ti is capable of 1440p gaming, it's not as powerful as the GTX 1070 (though it does match it in some games), which itself can sometimes struggle with more demanding games at this resolution. The RTX 2060 makes mine meat of games and it costs less than $100 for all this additional headroom. You also have ray tracing and Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) enabled on the card.
Other advantages the RTX 2060 has over the GTX 1660 Ti include increased memory bandwidth. It's simply better in every way aside from the base and boost clock speeds, but you can overcome with this overclocking as RTX 2060 cards come with superior coolers.
I recommend the RTX 2060 over the GTX 1660 Ti, but it's not the best option for everyone. If your budget simply cannot stretch to cover the GPU and you need the card now, the GTX 1660 Ti is a solid card for 1080p and some 1440p gaming.

Is NVIDIA RTX 2060 worth the extra cost compared to GTX 1660 Ti?
What to Consider Before Buying a Graphics Card
If you have been planning to upgrade your system by purchasing a new graphics card. Then there are some important factors to consider.
Resolution VS Quality: Impact on Game Performance
What affects game performance? Clarity or Details?
Ultra VS High Quality Settings in PC Games
Every player has a different notion about the ideal setting for PC games. But in most cases, opting for a High quality graphics configuration is the way to go.
What are CPU or GPU Bottlenecks?
Are you getting sudden frame drops? you might have a bottleneck.
What is the acceptable FPS speed for me?
For some games, you can still enjoy great garphics at lower frame rates.
