In our synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 4080 blows past the RTX 3080, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and, amazingly, even the RTX 3090 as well. Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Starfield, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Immortals of Aveum, The Callisto Protocol, Remnant II at 69 fps to 104 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 92 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Starfield, Immortals of Aveum, Remnant II, The Callisto Protocol, Microsoft Flight Simulator at 63 fps to 80 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 70 fps.
For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Atomic Heart, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Marvel's Avengers, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Borderlands 3 at 63 fps to 80 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 68 fps.
The good news is, with the release of the RX 6800 XT, the RX 6800 's price is getting more discount. The RX 6800 is much more expensive than the RX 5700 as it costs a whopping $ 579. Compare this to the RX 5700, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, which came originally at a price of $ 349, $ 399. Meanwhile, the NVIDIA closest equivalent card is the RTX 3070 which costs $ 499.
