Our Verdict: With some tuning, the RTX 4080 Ti makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than RTX 3080 Ti by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. The RTX 4080 Ti is faster by 40% for 1440p gaming. However, RTX 3080 Ti is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from RTX 3080 Ti to RTX 4080 Ti is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is much better for RTX 4080 Ti .

On the other hand, the RTX 4080 Ti is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 799. Spec for spec, this RTX 4080 Ti leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the RTX 3080 Ti, by boasting 37.4 % more fps.

The RTX 4080 Ti has 20 GB RAM compared to the RTX 3080 Ti 's 12 GB video memory. In our synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 4080 Ti blows past the RTX 3080 Ti and, amazingly, even the RTX 3090 as well.

Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The RTX 4080 Ti consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the RTX 3080 Ti and it really justifies an upgrade. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Starfield, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Immortals of Aveum, The Callisto Protocol, Remnant II at 75 fps to 112 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 99 fps.

For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Starfield, Immortals of Aveum, Remnant II, The Callisto Protocol, Microsoft Flight Simulator at 67 fps to 86 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 76 fps. For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Atomic Heart, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Marvel's Avengers, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Borderlands 3 at 67 fps to 86 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 74 fps.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti

The RTX 3090 might be the extreme flagship of the latest Ampere set of graphics cards, but their prices keep them out of the reach of most high-end PC gamers. On the other hand, the RTX 3080 Ti is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 799. The RTX 3080 Ti is much more cheaper than the RTX 2080 Ti as it costs $ 799. Compare this to the RTX 2080 Ti, which came originally at a price of $ 1299. Meanwhile, the AMD closest equivalent card is the RX 6900 XT which costs $ 999.

Spec for spec, this RTX 3080 Ti leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the RTX 2080 Ti, by boasting 49.8 % more fps. The RTX 3080 Ti has 12 GB RAM compared to the RTX 2080 Ti 's 11 GB video memory.
