Our Verdict: With some tuning, the RTX 4070 Max-Q makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than RX 6800M by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. For everyone else, especially those on 1080p or even 1440p monitors, the RX 6800M could be the better value choice in the short term. The RTX 4070 Max-Q is faster by 144% for 1440p gaming. However, RX 6800M is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from RX 6800M to RTX 4070 Max-Q is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is much better for RTX 4070 Max-Q .
