Our Verdict: With some tuning, the RTX 3080 Ti Max-Q makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than RTX 3070 Max-Q by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. For everyone else, especially those on 1080p or even 1440p monitors, the RTX 3070 Max-Q could be the better value choice in the short term. The RTX 3080 Ti Max-Q is faster by 36% for 1440p gaming. However, RTX 3070 Max-Q is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from RTX 3070 Max-Q to RTX 3080 Ti Max-Q is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is much better for RTX 3070 Max-Q .
In terms of cost, pricing clearly is a genuine issue here and the price of RTX 3080 Ti Max-Q is simply ridiculous. For those on 1080p or even 1440p monitors, the RTX 3080 Ti Max-Q is very expensive and there are better value choices in the short term.
