Our Verdict: With some tuning, the RTX 3090 Ti makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than RTX 3070 Ti by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. For everyone else, especially those on 1080p or even 1440p monitors, the RTX 3070 Ti could be the better value choice in the short term. The RTX 3090 Ti is faster by 43% for 1440p gaming. However, RTX 3070 Ti is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from RTX 3070 Ti to RTX 3090 Ti is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is much better for RTX 3070 Ti .

Spec for spec, this RTX 3070 Ti leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the RTX 2070 SUPER, by boasting 45.9 % more fps. In our synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 3070 Ti blows past the RTX 2070 SUPER and, amazingly, even the RTX 2080 as well.

Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The RTX 3070 Ti consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the RTX 2070 SUPER and it really justifies an upgrade. Compared to its AMD 's closest rival, RX 6800, the RTX 3070 Ti was -5.2 % slower.

For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play The Callisto Protocol, Remnant II, The Last of Us Part I, Halo Infinite, Forspoken at 62 fps to 80 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 71 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy, Dead Space, Halo Infinite, Red Dead Redemption 2 at 62 fps to 72 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 69 fps.

For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Just Cause 4, Anthem, Total War: Warhammer III, Guardians of the Galaxy, Battlefield 2042 at 61 fps to 63 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 62 fps.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti

The RTX 3090 Ti is much more expensive than the RTX 2080 Ti as it costs a whopping $ 1999. Compare this to the RTX 2080 Ti, which came originally at a price of $ 1299. Meanwhile, the AMD closest equivalent card is the RX 6900 XT which costs $ 999. Spec for spec, this RTX 3090 Ti leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the RTX 2080 Ti, by boasting 61.8 % more fps.

The RTX 3090 Ti has 24 GB RAM compared to the RTX 2080 Ti 's 11 GB video memory. Compared to its AMD 's closest rival, RX 6900 XT, the RTX 3090 Ti was 4.4 % faster.

For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Borderlands 3, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, Halo Infinite at 68 fps to 69 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 69 fps.
