Our Verdict: With some tuning, the RTX 3070 makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than RTX 2070 SUPER by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. The RTX 3070 is faster by 40% for 1440p gaming. However, RTX 2070 SUPER is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from RTX 2070 SUPER to RTX 3070 is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is much better for RTX 3070 .

On the other hand, the RTX 2070 SUPER is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 499. NVIDIA ’s xx70 cards have always been defined by mid-range prices with performance that knocks on the door of high-end graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Turing graphics card inside the RTX 2070 SUPER, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend.

The RTX 2070 SUPER is much more expensive than the GTX 1070 as it costs a whopping $ 499. Compare this to the GTX 1070, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, which came originally at a price of $ 399, $ 409. Meanwhile, the AMD closest equivalent card is the RX 5700 XT which costs $ 399. Spec for spec, this RTX 2070 SUPER leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 1070, by boasting 37.1 % more fps.

In our synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 2070 SUPER blows past the GTX 1070, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti and, amazingly, even the GTX 1080 as well. Compared to its AMD 's closest rival, RX 5700 XT, the RTX 2070 SUPER was 4.5 % faster.

Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The RTX 2070 SUPER consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 1070, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti and it really justifies an upgrade. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Hogwarts Legacy, Red Dead Redemption 2, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Dead Space, Assassin's Creed Odyssey at 61 fps to 71 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 67 fps.

For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, God of War, Forza Horizon 5, Baldur's Gate 3, Armored Core VI at 61 fps to 68 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 64 fps. For 2160p 4K, we were able to play World War Z, Battlefield V, Apex Legends, Strange Brigade, Spider-Man Remastered at 61 fps to 66 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 63 fps.

For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Battlefield 2042, Final Fantasy XV, Hitman 2, Watch Dogs: Legion, Hitman 3 at 62 fps to 66 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 64 fps.
