The RTX 2070 might be the mid-range flagship of the latest Turing set of graphics cards, but their prices keep them out of the reach of most entry-level PC gamers. On the other hand, the RTX 2060 is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 350. The good news is, with the release of the RTX 2060 SUPER, the RTX 2060 's price is getting more discount.
NVIDIA ’s xx60 cards have always been defined by entry-level prices with performance that knocks on the door of mid-range graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Turing graphics card inside the RTX 2060, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend. The RTX 2060 is much more expensive than the GTX 1060 6GB as it costs a whopping $ 350. Compare this to the GTX 1060 6GB, which came originally at a price of $ 254. Meanwhile, the AMD closest equivalent card is the RX 5700 which costs $ 349.
Spec for spec, this RTX 2060 leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 1060 6GB, by boasting 60.9 % more fps. In our synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 2060 blows past the GTX 1060 6GB and, amazingly, even the GTX 1070 as well.
Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The RTX 2060 consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 1060 6GB and it really justifies an upgrade. Compared to its AMD 's closest rival, RX 5700, the RTX 2060 was -4.3 % slower.
For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Elden Ring, Marvel's Avengers, Dying Light 2, Total War: Warhammer III at 61 fps to 65 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 63 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Gears of War 5, Need For Speed: Heat, Final Fantasy XV, Resident Evil 4, Far Cry 6 at 60 fps to 61 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 61 fps.
For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Overwatch 2, Valorant at 70 fps to 148 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 109 fps.
Compared to its NVIDIA 's closest rival, RTX 2080, the Radeon VII was -8.2 % slower. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Metro Exodus, God of War, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Dead Space, Forza Horizon 5 at 68 fps to 70 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 69 fps.
For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Battlefield 2042, Baldur's Gate 3, Armored Core VI, Anthem, Final Fantasy XV at 65 fps to 70 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 67 fps. For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Forza Horizon 4, Spider-Man Remastered, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Fallout 76, Battlefield V at 64 fps to 66 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 65 fps.
