NVIDIA ’s xx60 cards have always been defined by entry-level prices with performance that knocks on the door of mid-range graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Turing graphics card inside the RTX 2060 SUPER, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend. The RTX 2060 SUPER is much more expensive than the GTX 1060 6GB as it costs a whopping $ 400. Compare this to the GTX 1060 6GB, which came originally at a price of $ 254. Meanwhile, the AMD closest equivalent card is the RX 5700 which costs $ 349.
Spec for spec, this RTX 2060 SUPER leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 1060 6GB, by boasting 71.2 % more fps. The RTX 2060 SUPER has 8 GB RAM compared to the GTX 1060 6GB 's 6 GB video memory.
In our synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 2060 SUPER blows past the GTX 1060 6GB and, amazingly, even the GTX 1070 as well. Compared to its AMD 's closest rival, RX 5700, the RTX 2060 SUPER was 1.8 % faster.
Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The RTX 2060 SUPER consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 1060 6GB and it really justifies an upgrade. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Metro Exodus, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Dead Space, God of War, Forza Horizon 5 at 61 fps to 64 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 62 fps.
For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs: Legion, Gears of War 5, Need For Speed: Heat, Final Fantasy XV at 61 fps to 65 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 64 fps. For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Forza Horizon 4, Overwatch 2, Valorant at 66 fps to 160 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 101 fps.
AMD ’s xx80 cards have always been defined by mid-range prices with performance that knocks on the door of high-end graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the GCN 4.0 graphics card inside the RX 580, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend. The RX 580 is much more cheaper than the RX 480 as it costs $ 229. Compare this to the RX 480, which came originally at a price of $ 400. Meanwhile, the NVIDIA closest equivalent card is the GTX 1060 6GB which costs $ 254.
Spec for spec, this RX 580 leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the RX 480, by boasting 19.4 % more fps. Compared to its NVIDIA 's closest rival, GTX 1060 6GB, the RX 580 was 6.6 % faster.
Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The RX 580 consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the RX 480 and it really justifies an upgrade. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Final Fantasy XV, Apex Legends, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, F1 2019, Overwatch 2 at 62 fps to 68 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 65 fps.
For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Fallout 76, World War Z, Battlefield V, Valorant at 64 fps to 107 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 74 fps. For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Valorant at 93 fps to 93 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 93 fps.
