After taking the time to fully test the Pascal graphics card inside the GTX 1070 Ti, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend. Spec for spec, this GTX 1070 Ti leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 970, by boasting 62.5 % more fps.
The GTX 1070 Ti has 8 GB RAM compared to the GTX 970 's 4 GB video memory. In our synthetic benchmarks, the GTX 1070 Ti blows past the GTX 970 and, amazingly, even the GTX 980 as well.
Compared to its AMD 's closest rival, RX Vega 56, the GTX 1070 Ti was 5.4 % faster. Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The GTX 1070 Ti consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 970 and it really justifies an upgrade.
For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Dying Light 2, Total War: Warhammer III, Borderlands 3, Baldur's Gate 3, Armored Core VI at 62 fps to 65 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 64 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Hitman 3, Monster Hunter: World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Final Fantasy XV, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at 60 fps to 62 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 61 fps.
For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Overwatch 2, Valorant at 69 fps to 145 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 107 fps.
The good news is, with the release of the RTX 2080 Ti, the RTX 2080 SUPER 's price is getting more discount. Spec for spec, this RTX 2080 SUPER leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 1080, by boasting 32.8 % more fps.
Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The RTX 2080 SUPER consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 1080, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and it really justifies an upgrade. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Forspoken, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Atomic Heart, Halo Infinite, Assassin's Creed Valhalla at 63 fps to 69 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 65 fps.
For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Marvel's Avengers, Metro Exodus, Cyberpunk 2077, Total War: Warhammer III, Borderlands 3 at 64 fps to 67 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 65 fps. For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Resident Evil 2, Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn, Death Stranding, Resident Evil 4 at 61 fps to 65 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 63 fps.
