i3-2120
  • The i3-2120 has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The i3-2120 is more power efficient and generates less heat.
  • The i3-2120 has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.
Phenom II X2 545
  • The Phenom II X2 545 has higher Level 2 Cache. Data/instructions which have to be processed can be loaded from the fast L2 and the CPU does not have to wait for the very slow DDR RAM
  • The Phenom II X2 545 has higher Level 3 Cache. This is useful when you have substantial multiprocessing workloads, many computationally intense simultaneous processes. More likely on a server, less on a personally used computer for interactive desktop workloads.

Will 1080ti run decently with i3 2120So basically i have an i3 2120 cpu and a 960 sc 2GB, i plan on upgrading the whole pc, right now i can either get a 1080ti and get a i7 8700k with a z370 mobo and 16GB ram later (about 3 to 4 months) or i can do the opposite, getting the cpu and motherboard and ram and 3 or 4 months later getting the gpu.Im basically 50/50 in that decision as of now, need to know if it will bottleneck too much, it will be used for gaming, fortnite, csgo, rainbow six siege, gta V and the upcoming cod. Thank you in advance.

Keep to your original plan and get the card. 4 months from now 1080Ti may be hard to find new, just don't know.Right now you can get an almost new 1080Ti for half price. You'll be paying full price for a 2080 and bet bottom dollar there wont be much difference besides price ~900+euros or however much new cards are there. As for running the card with the i3 there's no harm in trying. In theory and logical thinking it will bottleneck but be interesting to see it in practice since actual experience on the matter is limited because not many people would be in the same boat and tell about it.

For that programs, I think is better a new CPU than a GPU. Of corse 1GB vram is poor for heavy works in PS.The 1030 2GB may be sufficient. I was searching reviews, and almost all the GPUs perform equal in PS (1080ti seems to be only 8% faster than a 1050).I suggest another thing... If he wants a new PC.Iam not Intel or AMD fan, I suggest Intel because usually performs better than AMD with 1-2 core apps. (Not sure if Illustrator uses a lot of cores, but I don´t think so).Intel Core i3-7100 3.9Ghz BOX: 99.95€Gigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H: 63.25€G.Skill Ripjaws V Red DDR4 2400 PC4-19200 16GB 2x8GB CL15: 165€(For O.S. and programs) Samsung 850 Evo SSD Series 250GB SATA3: 97,95€(For storage and personal files) Toshiba DT01ACA200 2TB SATA3 64MB: 73,54€ I suggest to buy 2 HDD, one for the tower, other for a external USB to make security copy of own data. For the power supply, I should go for a Tier One. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html I have a SuperFlower, is quite an not too much expensive. I have had a lot of cheap PSUs and allways end broken in 1-year. And a SAI like the SALICRU SPS SOHO 2000+: +/- 200€. I have one for 3 years, still working fine, only need to change now the 2 batterys.I hope this help, take only as a reference.

Kind of tough because graphics cards are so expensive right now due to the mining craze. I would recommend looking at a GTX 750ti or something like that. Your best bet will probably be the local ads for used parts, or maybe Craigslist. Look on ebay as well. You may get lucky as well. I recently sold a Radeon 7950 for 70 on ebay, plus about 8 dollars shipping. If you could score a deal like that, that should run you a little while.

i3-2120 or i3-3220 ?Hello! I want to know before buying any processoer that is there any difference between i3-2120 vs i3-3220. Does my games run faster on i3-3220?I already have a gpu so I don't care about their HD-graphics and I am currently using G2020 processor. Please don't tell me to buy i5 because I have no budget.

Yes, they are better for gaming, just as a haswell i3 would be even better. If you feel the need to 'upgrade', I'd advise you to stay with your G2020 until you can afford an i5 3570k.

You can try other PCie sound card, or you can buy can a sound card that connected with USB interface, cheapest ones will cost you below 5$ on Ebay, or you can get a high-end card from brands like Creative or Asus (depends on your quality expectations),I have Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 USB which works great despite it's 4 years old.Check the following link for high end cards - https://www.bestproducts.com/tech/gadgets/g1422/external-sound-cards-for-pc-or-mac/
