i5-3450 vs i7-10700K - The Last of Us Part I GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q - Game Performance Benchmarks

Question about my i5 3450Hi guys,I was thinking on buying a new graphics card for my i5 3450 but after I saw so many people (including me) having problems on Battlefield 1 (CPU usage always hitting 100%) I'm thinking it will be worth it.I saw some topics with few months about this specific CPU saying that is more than enough for gaming, but I really don't know what to think Any opinion from the people that knows more than me?Thanks!

Yeah, I'd still suggest a GPU upgrade. A higher-end video card will let you run with higher graphical settings, and that can be useful with any CPU, though it's not always the wisest use of money. Years ago, I had a Pentium 233mhz which I ran Quake 3 Arena on. I purchased a Geforce2MX to go with it, and found that I had no framerate difference (25-35fps) even at lowest graphical settings, but I could crank the graphics up to max and not lose a single frame per second. It's worth noting that AMD's video card drivers are more CPU-heavy in DX11 games (which is most of them), making the problem of CPU-limitations worse. Even though a GTX 1060 is not a faster card in the strictest sense, it's often faster than the RX 480 when paired with anything but the fastest CPUs.

All I want is to play games on ultra-very high settings on 1080p Can you guys tell me what you think?. Besides, do you think it is worth to go for the Gtx 1060 with 6GB? If you want to currently play very high/ultra settings @1080p. 1060 6gb is the bare requirement. (Some games can reach 3GB Vram quite easily). No matter which card you get it will be a big upgrade from your GTS 250. Your Cpu is still capable and I'd say anything higher than a 1060 6gb will be waste of money.

AMD FX8320 or Intel Core i5 3450(non-K)?Hey guys!I'm might build a new PC in January next year and these are the specs in my mind. CPU: Intel Core i5 3450(non-K) or AMD FX8320GPU: MSI NVIDIA GTX 760 RAM: 2x4GBPSU: Corsair VS550 550 Watt I might overclock it, but not heavily. I'll be using this PC heavily for gaming, recording game-play videos and a little bit of video editing. And please, don't suggest me to change other components, I'm in a tight budget. When comparing the price of i5 3450+MoBo and FX8320+MoBo it's almost the same, and I will have to get a cooler if I go with FX8320 which will cost more. I won't be upgrading this PC for minimum 3-5 years(might upgrade the RAM tho) so I really want a powerful, and future-proof CPU.Thanks!

For gaming, the i5 is far, far superior. The fx 8320 isn't a bad chip, but it can't compete with modern chips anymore in single core performance. It is however superior to the i5 in rendering, but that may have low priotity to you anyway. Anyway, for the 8320 you would need to buy an aftermarket cooler, for the i5 you can skip that, that alone should save you some money. Even if it slightly breaks your budget, it should be worth it.

essentially no difference at all performance wise between ivy bridge and skylake for gaming, nothing tangible anyway. If you get an ivy bridge i5 you can basically get any video card you can afford and have an amazing experience.

I5-3450 VS g4560Which one would give me more fps in todays modern gaming? i feel like having an ddr4 ram gives g4560 abit more edge.

Actual FPS differences vary from game to game, because a) each game has different requirements, b) some games require more cores than others, c) some games are much more CPU-intensive than others, & d) especially with console ports you have varying levels of CPU code optimization.That being said... -- GTA V (https://www.techspot.com/review/991-gta-5-pc-benchmarks/page6.html) shows the i5-3470 (just a slightly faster version of your current CPU) having a definite lead (+15% performance) over the 4th-gen Core i3-4130 -- They weren't able to test with as many CPUs with Battlefield 1 because of "hardware changes detected" issues, but they did test the i3-6100T against the i5-6600K (https://www.techspot.com/review/1267-battlefield-1-benchmarks/page4.html). Note that both those CPUs are 6th-gen Skylake CPUs (the Pentium you're looking is only a slightly newer 7th-gen Kaby Lake CPU), & the i3 is a 2C/4T CPU like that Pentium. Again, the i5 had 15-25% better performance. -- For Honor 9https://www.techspot.com/review/1333-for-honor-benchmarks/page3.html) really shows the advantage of "real vs. HyperThreading" cores, as the 2nd-gen i5-2500K (at the slower speed of 3.2GHz) had better performance than the 7th-gen i3-7350K (at a much higher speed of 4.2GHz), let alone the slower i3-6100 (3.7GHz); the Pentium would probably fare even worse.In short, the only time you might see that Pentium fare better than your current i5-3450 is in games that only use 1 or 2 cores, & the Pentium's faster clock speeds would be in use. But most "modern" games, especially going forward, you'll see your i5 generally perform better.
