i3-4360
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The i3-4360 is more power efficient and generates less heat.
  • The i3-4360 has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.
Phenom II X6 1035T
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has higher Level 2 Cache. Data/instructions which have to be processed can be loaded from the fast L2 and the CPU does not have to wait for the very slow DDR RAM
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has higher Level 3 Cache. This is useful when you have substantial multiprocessing workloads, many computationally intense simultaneous processes. More likely on a server, less on a personally used computer for interactive desktop workloads.
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.

Maybe a slight bottleneck, but you can switch on anti-aliasing and other more taxing graphics details to offset it. The 270x will pair fine with that CPU.

i3-4360 upgrade to i5-7600k new cpu fan?I currently have an intel i3-4360 Haswell with the stock CPU fan it came with. Im upgrading to the new i5-7600k kaby lake along with a new MOBO, the gigabyte gaming B8. The chipset I have now is LGA 1150. My new CPU and MOBO will be LGA 1151. My question is can i still use the CPU fan I have now, and will it be sufficient for the i5?

Does your current Intel boxed cooler have a copper core? If it doesn't, then it won't properly handle the thermal output of the i5-7600K and you may encounter thermal throttling or shutdown of the processor.

i5 5250u vs pentium g3258 vs i3 4360 vs i7 5557UHey, I'm thinking of building a new pc and was wondering which cpu is better? The core i5 5250u and i7 5557U is present in the intel nuc range. Also will these cpu's be able to do 3d rendering and photo and video editing? Thanks

i5 5250u and i7 5557U are mobile based CPU & both are Dual Core.pentium g3258 vs i3 4360 is desktop based CPU & both are Dual Core but much powerful than mobile based CPU.For 3d rendering get desktop based CPU.I would say get a i5-4460+H81 mobo. Even if it will cost more but it will save you in the long run.

Core i3 4360 or 4160?Built a computer at my local repair shop today. Had a Core i3 4360, ASUS Z97P motherboard,Samung 850 EVO Pro, 8GB 2400mhz RAM dual channel. Booted up in 6 seconds from power button to desktop.I have a Kingston SSD (before they changed memory), 8GB 1600mhz RAM (single channel) and just want to know which CPU is better. Will be doing general use, as well as maybe some future gaming.AKNerd

The 4360 runs 0.1 GHz faster and has 4MB of L3 cache instead of just 3MB. These differences result in a generally very small performance advantage for the 4360.
