overclocking an intel i3 3225 @3.3 GHzi was wondering if i could overclock my intel i3 3225 @ 3.3GHz to 3.5GHz if possible i am using the standard cooler thats comes with the CPU and it usually runs at 40 degrees Celsius and under load like rendering a video it get up to about 50 degrees Celsius. Is it going to be safe to over clock the CPU on the standard cooler if not i have $15 dollars to spend on a cooler my friend as sorted a good one for me so know worry's there

Because your motherboard has a B75 chipset, you will not be able to overclock. You would need a Z77 based motherboard to overclock a i5-3570KIf you do not change out your motherboard, I suggest a i5-3350P assuming you are a gamer and have a discrete graphics card.

what should i get : intel core i3 3220 vs 3225i wanted to what is better for gaming.core i3 3220 having hd 2500 and 3225 having hd 4000 which increases alot of performance in games. So both having 2 cores and 2 threads. So my real question is is it worth to buy intel core i3 3225 or should i go for core i3 3220.Fixed your headline. - G

Well you need a psu for sure. Why such an expensive case? You can get a solid case + solid psu for $100ish.If you are going to depend on integrated graphics, I REALLY recommend getting at least 1600mhz RAM if not 1866mhz. I'm pretty sure you can find a 2x2GB 1866 kit for about that same price. Also, $49 for a 250GB hdd is not a good deal. You could probably find a 500GB one for that same price. 1TB drives are $59 all the time.

Is the FX 6300 or i3 3225 Better? Is the FX 6300 or i3 3225 Better? It would be mainly used for gaming and no video rendering, photoshop, extreme multi-tasking or anything like that. They are practically the same price. It would be with a GTX 660 GPU. I have looked at a few different benchmarks and seem to get conflicting answers. Thanks!!!

If you think advising someone looking at a low end gaming rig with a tight budget to buy an i3 is a wise decision, given the fact that they'll have to overhaul with their next upgrade (dead socket), and will run out of computing power in the next 12 months without doubt on the newest games...then I guess that's your own decision, but I cannot whole heartedly advise anyone to buy an i3 right now. I could see someone making a case for an i5/i7 even on a dead socket...but an i3? When there are so many superior offerings from AMD at similar price points that give them more options and will be better solutions to have a year from now...I can't agree with that.

i3 3225 vs E3 1220v2?Greetings. I am looking forward to buy a new CPU going along with my B75MA-p45 mainboard. Those boys in the tittle caught my attention. I am confused since they have similar price tag, both are good enough for my requirements.I am buying this mainly for gaming, raw photo editing. I may sometimes render some videos and 3D drawings. Please give me an advice. Thanks in advance. Best of luck to you all.

You can go to this site:http://ark.intel.com/Type in "i3-3225" in the lower search window ("type here to search products"), then, when you've found the i3, click "add to compare". Then search for "e3-1220", and in the list that comes up click the "v2", then click "add to compare". Then click "compare", and you will get both CPUs side-by-side for a nice comparison. Clearly four real cores are better than two and two hyperthreaded.

Depends on how long you had your pc. The thermal paste on the cpu cooler may need replacing. Your idle temps is warmer than expected but your load temps are still fine. For Ivybridge cpu:3rd Generation 22 Nanometer: 3570K / 3770K (TDP 77W / Idle 4W)Standard Ambient = 22CTcase (CPU temp) = 67CCPU / Core offset + 5CTjunction (Core temp) = 72CTj Max (Throttle temp) = 105CSource
