Phenom 9950 Quad-Core vs FX-4350 Quad-Core - The Callisto Protocol Graphics 512SP Mobile - Game Performance Benchmarks

Battlefront with core 2 quad q9950?So my father, who doesn't play games, was blown away by the battlefront beta... We really want to play together but don't have cash for a whole new rig, but we do have an old one to work with. Before I buy a new motherboard/cpu combo, I just want to know what the chances are of running the new battlefront with a core 2 quad q9550 2.83ghz. If it is even capable of running the game itself, then bottlenecks would be the next issue... All I would need is a card that can run it on medium to high 1080p. So, what do you think? Can it handle it? Too early to say?I searched and couldn't find enough data on my own. Thank you in advance.

q9550 will run the game fine, however the min requirement is a i3-6300t which is similar to an i3-4340. But if you overclock the q9950 to 3.2-3.4 it will close the gap. GPU wise a 750ti will work great with your cpu. If this is the only game your dads going to be playing an not something on the horizon then avoid spending more. A GTX 950 is also very nice but why spend $40-50 more for just one game. Minimum system requirements are AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.4 GHz is the minimum requirement so my guess is that you will be struggling with that CPU.If you have it overclocked you may be able to pull it off bu considering the recommended CPU are fx-8350 and i-3770 it could indicate that the game needs lot of CPU power in general. It's rare I such high recommended system requirements that I have for this game.I can't find out if the game supports Mantle but if you have an AMD card that supports it you may want to check that out since Mantle takes away a bit of a pressure on lower end CPUs.

core 2 quad q9950 vs q9650Does core 2 quad q9950 exists. I searched every where (even in intel website) I can but I couldn't find any spec of q9950. Why it is not popular?Can I get significant performance from core 2 quad q9950 than q9650.

Core 2 Quads are dated, I myself am using a Q8400 overclocked machine, it served me well in the first era of the "new gen games", even holds up rather well on The Witcher 3, but it will bottleneck even a GTX 750 Ti on the upcoming games and current new games and even the performance on Windows, do all you can to get at least an i5 4th gen or even the new Skylake i3 6100, which is what I am aiming for right now, my GTX 950 simply cant run the new games due to the massive CPU limitation I have, even with the overclock. You will not get much improvement, you could get a lot of improvement if you OC your C2Q to 4.00 GHz and beyond, but that requires custom cooling, a very capable and expensive 775, hard to find and most of the time, used mobo and a powerful PSU, not worth the hassle imo, just get a newer gen CPU, any 4th gen i3 or i5 is better than all C2Qs out there and you can throw even a GTX 980 at them and there wont be any bottleneck or very, very small at some games. Dont forget to add 8GB of RAM too. Good luck.
