i3-6320
  • The i3-6320 has higher Level 2 Cache. Data/instructions which have to be processed can be loaded from the fast L2 and the CPU does not have to wait for the very slow DDR RAM
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The i3-6320 is more power efficient and generates less heat.
i3-12300
  • The i3-12300 has higher Level 3 Cache. This is useful when you have substantial multiprocessing workloads, many computationally intense simultaneous processes. More likely on a server, less on a personally used computer for interactive desktop workloads.
  • The i3-12300 has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
  • The i3-12300 has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • The i3-12300 has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.

i3 6320 or i3 6100?Hi guys! I was going to buy an i3 6100 for my very tight budget gaming rig. I was wondering if there is a noticeable increase in performance from the i3 6100 to the 13 6300 and the i3 6320 so that they would (can't find the word here :\) for the extra 100smth extra where i live (it's 4 times more expensive where i live). I just want to be able to play games like gta v that are rather cpu intensive. Here's the rest of my rig:-GTX 750ti from msi-MSI H110M GAMING-HyperX Fury Black 2x4gb ddr4 2133-Seasonic M12II

No the 6300/6320 is absolutely NOT worth the extra cost. You wouldn't even notice.

i3 6320 AvailabilityI was trying to find the price of an i3 6320 but I'm having issues finding it online for sale. Is it actually out yet? Only information I can find is that it was supposed to be out Q3 2015.

Those "real" cores only help in heavily threaded applications. (BF4 and a few others which are exceedingly demanding on the CPU but not necessarily worth it. The Division is also well threaded, but can be maxed on an i3)The i3 will perform better when doing normal stuff, and will perform better in MOST games and popular ones like CS:GO and DOTA/LOL.The i5 would be better if you were doing something like photo editing alot.If "real" cores mattered, AMD would be the king, but they're barely scraping by, so what does that tell you?

Intel i5 6400 vs i3 6320Hi all! I'm building a budget gaming rig and I'm contemplating between either the Intel i5 6400 or the i3 6320 CPU. Both currently cost the same here in amazon UK. What do you guys think?

i3-6100 is only 91 quid, compared to the lowest price of 122 quid for the i3-6320 I think. CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor (£96.99 @ Ebuyer) Total: £96.99Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when availableGenerated by PCPartPicker 2016-03-20 21:53 GMT+0000However, for the games that you play, i5-6500 would be better.
