i3-6100
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The i3-6100 is more power efficient and generates less heat.
i7-11700K
  • The i7-11700K has higher Level 3 Cache. This is useful when you have substantial multiprocessing workloads, many computationally intense simultaneous processes. More likely on a server, less on a personally used computer for interactive desktop workloads.
  • The i7-11700K has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
  • The i7-11700K has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • The i7-11700K has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.

I3 6100 vs FX 8350??After seeing benchmarks they perform the same, but with the I3 i need DDR4 at a way higher speed and lower voltage with better upgrade path, but im looking for upgrading to zen anyway so upgrade path dont matter. If i go with FX i will be keeping it for 1-2 years to wait for zen to settle down a bit, but if i got I3 i will still go zen and still keep it for around a year or 2 then upgrade, so if i am going zen will it be better to get the FX and use it for a year or two, then upgrade to zen with DDR4, or go FX? If i go FX i will get more ram, if i go I3 i will buy DDR4 ram. I currently got 8GB and i want 16GB on either or setup. (I been posting a lot about what CPU i get, sorry bout so many post's i just want to get the best for around the 130-150 price range on a CPU)

FX 8370 vs i3-6100I'm building a 2nd rig. Have a few friends selling their old parts to me. The computer will be mainly used for home entertainment / light gaming / light casual youtube video editing. Now I have 2 options to choose from:PRICE: USD$520 (most of the parts are old except for PSU , Case and HDD)CPU: FX 8370 (used)Mobo: Asus 970 Pro Gaming (used)RAM: 16GB DDR3 (used)GPU: GTX 970 4GB wind froz (used)PSU: Rosewill ARC 80+ Bronze 550W (NEW)<(NEW)Case & (NEW) 1TB drive included> Price : USD$365 (ALL parts are used)CPU: i3 6100 3.70 ghz (used)Mother Board: MSI B250m Bazooka (used)Ram: 8gb ddr4 (used)GPU: GTX 1050 2B EVGA SSC Edition (used)PSU: CSX 80+Bronze 500W (used)<Case & 1TB drive included (used)> 1) Which build is a better buy econmically? Assuming minimal upgrade for the next 4 years2) if both builds use GTX 970 4GB wind froz , while keeping the cost the same, which is a better buy?Appreciate your feedback! to help me analyze... I'm having analysis paralysis

With both builds using the 970, then the i3 is the better option in my opinion, however, I agree with the idea that NEITHER of them is is a good as building from scratch using an entirely new system. Those parts are not worth the cost AND they've already seen about half of their useful life which makes them even less worth the cost.I wouldn't pay more than 250 bucks for the entire build, on BOTH of those systems. Well, actually, "I" wouldn't even pay that, but I also wouldn't recommend anybody to do so either unless it was the only available set of options.

Upgrade Skylake i3-6100 with i5-7500 or 7600k?I don't overclock and have a shabby H110 motherboard anyways.

You will need to flash your bios in order to run a 7500/7600k. As for which to buy, since you have a H110 motherboard, there is really not any reason to buy a 7600k as you will not be able use overclocking features. So I would go with the 7500 all the way.In like 10 days intel is releasing the 8th gen desktop CPUs. While the i5s wont be compatible with your board, the new locked i3 may be and the price is $120 and it will be a 4 core chip like the 7500. The point is, the 7500s price should drop considerably over the next several weeks and you may be able to find a good deal on one if the new i3 only work on a z370 motherboard.

Oh yea, that has logic. Will I get ANY more fps with the i3?Depends on the game but in general yes the i3 is a much faster processor. http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/607/Intel_Core_2_Quad_Q8200_vs_Intel_Core_i3_i3-6100.html

Intel Core i3 6100 or AMD FX 8320E?Hello Experts,I'm planning to setup a new PC but I'm not sure which is the best.everything will be the same - GPU GTX 1060 and RAM will be 8GB but for CPU I'm thinking if it's best to get the i3 or FX?Thanks In Advance

DDR4 doesn't offer huge performance advantages, but DDR3 is on its way out, so a board supporting 4 will be more future-proof and cheaper to add RAM to in the future. The i3 and FX have entirely different strengths. The FX has better multithreaded performance, while the i3 has far better single-threaded performance (think 60-75%), draws less than half the power, supports PCIe 3.0, and it's far easier to find a motherboard with USB 3.1 and M.2 slots.Overall the two trade blows in performance, but I'd take the i3, personally, for reasons outside of performance alone.

i5 6500 vs i3 6100Currently I have have:Intel pentium g4400 processor H110 - s2 gigabyte motherboard 2x4 gb 2666mhz g skill ripjaws 5 Corsair vs450 psu Zotac gtx 950I was looking to upgrade my cpu as the dual core restricts in most games and lags in many games..... I was wondering which cpu will be ideal for gaming? i3 6100 or i5 6500! Want to play most of the modern titles and upcoming titles.I mean if I will be better off with the i3 6100..... It's cheap... But the extra two physical cores of the i5 6500 will affect the performance? P.S- Only for gaming!
