Phenom II X6 1035T
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • The Phenom II X6 1035T has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.
Athlon II X2 220
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The Athlon II X2 220 is more power efficient and generates less heat.

Sure, that is a good video card for the price. Make sure you update the BIOS before you try the card and that your PSU is good enough to run it. It should run on most power supplies even under 300 watts.

AMD Phenom ii X6 1035T TURBO CLOCK?Hi therei have an AMD Phenom ™ II X6 1035T Processor 2.6GHZ With Turbo 3.1GHZOnly question when does the turbo clock kick in!?i never see the turbo clock kicking in. And most utilities say i only have 2.6GHZ but so far as i did my research this processor does have a turbo boost towards 3.1 Ghz ofcourse of the 6 cores only 3 have a turbo boost! but in high demand gaming i didnt notice any difference of performance or speed of the cpu can anyone maybe explain to me?Greetings Ricardo

When 3 cores or less are being utilized, Turbo should kick in and take the clock speed to 3.1 GHz. You'd have to test with apps that you know are not using more than 3 cores but will stress the CPU. Be sure you have Turbo Mode enabled in BIOS.

I run an 1100T which is a little faster than your CPU. Right now I have 2 R9 280's in crossfire and to be honest the processor is somewhat of a bottleneck in many games. 1 R9 280 is mostly fine. That said the R9 280 is no longer in production. However the new R9 380 is a good value and will match well with the processor. Its faster than the 280 but not that much faster, and should you decide to upgrade your motherboard and processor its a good card at almost any level for 1080p gaming.

AMD Phenom II X6 1035T vs Fx 6100Hello,I'm looking at buying either of these for my GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard,A few questions, stock for stock which will be better for Gaming and video editing? Also is my Motherboard any good for overclocking?I'm leaning towards the X6 as I've heard their single threaded performance is better. They're both exactly the same price, down to the penny.Cheers,DragonBorn1511

Yes 3Ghz is what both mine unlocked to but understand you buying a black edition. So all you need to do is change the multiplier to overclock. TDP depends as some were disabled due to weak cores. Some tho was just to fill the demand which those should be perfectly equal to thuban. Now I can set mine to 3.3Ghz at 1.26v and be near 65w TDP if need be.https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-78LMT-USB3-rev-41#support-cpuYour motherboard supports the 125W FX-8370 so it will support any thuban upto 4Ghz with turbo off. Know tho Thuban is an odd CPU with best performance around 3.7~3.8Ghz with CPU-NB 12 for higher memory thoughput. My NB voltage is at 1.225 and that creates more heat than going over 4Ghz.
