i5-4440
  • The i5-4440 has higher Level 2 Cache. Data/instructions which have to be processed can be loaded from the fast L2 and the CPU does not have to wait for the very slow DDR RAM
  • The i5-4440 has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
  • The i5-4440 has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The i5-4440 has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.
  • The i5-4440 has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.
Athlon II X2 240
  • The Athlon II X2 240 is more power efficient and generates less heat.

fx 8350 vs i5 4440Why fx 8350 is better than i5 4440 but the i5 4440 is more expensive

The 4440 will be better in single core relying apps (like most games), but FX 8 will be better in parallel processing apps (like rendering/ 3D modelling and some games like BF4). Once the FX is OCed, it'll match or even better i5's gaming performance. Why FX is cheaper than i-cores?AMD follows 2 cores per module ideology, they put 2 cores in 1 module and both cores have to share the same resources, so the performance, especially single core, is very weak. But this does help in saving costs by not dedicating resources for each core.Intel has 1 core per module mindset and hence the single core performance and FPU of Intel CPUs is much more than FX's. Moreover, Intel are more energy efficient than FX, while maintaining a strong performance too.If you want to OC, get FX 8 + 9xx MoBo + CPU cooler, otherwise, a i5 non-k + B85/H81/87 MoBo if you don't plan to upgrade from this gen, or H97 if you plan otherwise.

i5 4570 vs i5 4570s vs i5 4440Which Cpu is better. i5 4570 vs i5 4570s vs i5 4440 i am planning on gaming with them. Also which on will be the best for cooling and having a longer cpu life.

Like I always recommend, If not overclocking then go with an Intel Core i5-4430 3.0GHz, if overclocking then go with Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz. Just like with Ivy Bridge, Intel Core i5-3350P 3.1 GHz if not overclocking and Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz if overclocking.

the S variant is a lower TDP version 65W < 84W, but I recommend the simple version from these two.

Intel Core i5 4440 or AMD FX8320Hey guys!I'll be getting a new PC soon and here are the specs in my mind,CPU: FX8320 or i5 4440GPU: Asus GTX760RAM: 4GB for now (I'll get another 4GB stick in December)MoBo: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0(FX8320) or Asus B85M-G(i5 4440)CPU Cooler: CM Hyper TX3PSU: Seasonic ECO 600wMain use of this PC would be for gaming, a bit of video editing and stuff.I wouldn't be doing any overclocking now(If I go with FX8320), maybe after 2-3 years. I really need the CPU which will live longer.I'll be keeping Turbo Boost on most of the time. Thanks!

For gaming, it is a big No but for your video editing requirements, it will do the job.
