Any links? I'd be thanful if someone tell me the right way for those options. Is there any safe way for overclock it by using windows, not bios?thanks in advance

we need the specs for your pc ie what mobo are you using the like also even if u flash the bios you still wont be able to unlock over clocking features because if there not already present then flashing the bios wont work because u have to use a bios designed for your mobo and its revision

I suppose it really depends on the motherboard here. If you can overclock that certainly is an option. I hardly noticed any change in performance when I went from an i7-950 to an i7-4770k, I upgraded for PCIe 3.0 and SATA III mostly.More memory and a new GPU and you should be good to go.

overclock i7 920 dx58so help!Hi guys,I know this question has been asked many times before, but I didn't find the answers that I need.My Problem: I have a PC which I got last year and I paid about 305 Dollars for it. It worked good and was enough for working but the I discovered the sin of PC-Gaming ;D. After a while I had played all the potato-games that my PC could manage to run and now I'm at the point where I want to play more advanced games but my PC can't.These are the parts that are installed:Case: Corsair Carbide 300rPower Supply: Corsair HX520WMotherboard: Intel DX58SOCPU: Intel i7-920 2.99 GHzGPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275RAM: Corsair 6Gb XMS DDR3-1600MHz (TR3X6G1600C9)CPU-Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B SE2 (12.50cm)Case-Cooling: because of several problems I have only one fan connected (MOBO doesn't support any more)What I wanted to do was to try overclocking the CPU because I read that it is almost 'made' for it. Then I wanted to get a new GPU and new RAM (this isn't why I'm writing this, but any ideas are welcome). As you should have found out until now I don't have a single clue how to overclock. I once tried to do it with the Intel Desktop Control Center, at 3.3 Ghz CS:GO didn't work fluent anymore (at 2.99 Ghz it did) and at 3.6 Ghz the PC crashed and I had to reset the setting. Now I would like to know if the PC could handle the overclock (do I Need a new cooler, can the PSU deliver enough electricity, do I Need new RAM for the overclock?). And if it can, how to do it safe, how long the PC could live with an OC and if it could run newer games.I hope I didn't write to much and that you can help me soon. If you need more information just ask for it.Greetings,Strombo

The 980TI is the fastest of those 3, but it's the previous generation and would require a better PSU. It's also $400-$500. For about the same price you could get a GTX 1070 which is slightly faster and needs a lot less power. Both of those cards would be held back a little by your CPU. You would want to overhaul the CPU and motherboard if you get the 1070.The GTX 1060 would be your best bet in my opinion - super fast for 1080P, decent for 1440P, a good match for your CPU, and around $250. The RX480 is just slightly slower, but actually does beat the 1060 in a few titles. If you can get a good deal on one, I wouldn't hesitate to pick it instead. If that's more than you want to spend, the RX-470 is around $180, and would still give you a huge jump from what you have now.

Ryzen upgrade from i7 920Right now I have an i7 920 running at stock speeds at 2.67 ghz. I was wondering what would be a better upgrade for me (I mainly just play overwatch, destiny 2, Cs go, and gta v. Right now I have 2 choicesI5 4440 and a b85 motherboard used for a total of 160Or Ryzen 3 1200/1300x and a b350 motherboard from micro center For a total of 160-180 (depending on the cpu I go with)Thank you!

Absolutely the ryzen , not worth ivesting anything into a haswell setup now.At stock the ryzen is as strong as a 4460 , overclocked its stronger.
