Depending on where you are buying from you can get for the same price as that one a cryorig h7 which is better and will even allow an oc on that cpu (not much but it's going to be something at least).

The 780ti is equal to 1060 6gb... http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-780-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB/2165vs3639Its a perfectly fine combination and wont bottleneck at all... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q7lIYRK5T0ABLvAkgbM_2jJGvbhlep27mR-eRcCy4FA/edit#gid=0

X79-Deluxe Compatibility with i7-3960Xhi,I'm interested in buying the x79-deluxe to use with my second gen i7 extreme, but I'm not sure if they are supported without a bios update. Since I dont have another socket 2011 cpu on hand I would not be able to update the bios untill my 3960x was compatible. Any help would be appreciated,Thanks

I am assuming you mean the ASUS X79 Deluxe? If so, then the 3960x is supported straight out of the box.May I ask why you want such an extreme CPU?

i7-3960x or i7-4790k for gaming?i have an option between both, be advised neither will cost me anything as i already have a 4790k and i recently bought an old computer for cheap that has that cpu in it (some mother sold it to me for $500 cause her son moved out). anyway, which should i use for gaming? i also do animating and 3d work for my major.

i already OWN both cpu's though, so what hassle? 4790K - New architecture , better single core performance , higher clock speed , less TDP and runs cool3960X - 12 hyperthreading cores instead of 8 (hassels are mentioned above)Your choice.http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-3960X

Is the i7 3960x worth itCurrently I have a maximus gene Iv motherboard with a i7 3770k. For some reason my motherboard has been acting up(the PCI express x16 slot performs faulty) and I have decided to look for a new motherboard. However, in the process I came across a deal with asus rampage formula motherboard and i7 3960x combo for $650 AUD. is that something that would help me in the long run? I wish to make sli set up in the future with 2x gtx980 ti. Should I opt for the deal because the rampage motherboard has 4 PCI express slots and is it worth the money? Thanks in advance

That doesn't sound like a terrible deal but keep in mind it's also 4yrs old already too. Hard to say, it'd probably be worth keeping if you already had it but I'm not so sure about that large of an investment into hardware that old. Current z97 and soon to be released z107 will be plenty to sli two 980ti's. The 2011 platform is more for triple/quad crossfire/sli. When looking to make that big of an investment and hoping for the 'long run' I think current parts would serve you better. Not sure what you're considering the long run, 3, 4yrs? By then those parts will be 7-8yrs old. For roughly the same price you could get a 4790k, z97 motherboard and cooler and it will run games better than the 3960x unless you do a lot of serious video editing. Plus new parts would be built on newer tech and come with a warranty. For that matter why not just get a new motherboard for your current gear? Should last you quite awhile and it will also run 980ti's in sli.
