can't overclock i5 2550ki just bought a corsair h60 cpu water cooler and wanted to overclock my i5 2550k but when i try to change the cpu core ratio it will only go up by 0.1ghz and no higher and i can't even change the turbo boost ratio or anything because it is not highlighted or i can't change the cpu core frequency i am using a GIGABYTE H61M-S2PV motherboard and just wan't to overclock my cpu to 4.0 ghz (3.4ghz is the standard with 3.8 turbo) but i just can't do it any ideas?

You have an H61 chipset. It is fully locked and you will not be able to OC on it at all.You will need a Z68 or P67 chipset to OC your Sandy Bridge CPU.

i5-2550k ddr4 supporti was looking for a processor to run good with my gtx 960ssc and someone recommended the i5-2550k. so i looked on intel's website and it says it supports ddr3 @ 1066 / 1333, so if i have ddr4 @ 1666, it won't see the memory and won't run? if so can someone recommend a new processor that runs lga 1155 near $200-$250?

Are you sure it's ddr4 and not ddr3 ram you have? Ddr4 doesn't run in lga1155 and it's not just the processor, it's the motherboard. Ddr4 is supported in 2011v3 and lga1151 (new skylake). Sandy bridge cpu's run in lga1155 and require ddr3. I'm not aware of any common ddr4 ram that runs as slow as 1666 unless it's been severely underclocked, typically ddr4 starts at 2133. If you're asking if the ddr3 above 1333 will run with an i5 2500k, then yes. Pair it with a z77 motherboard and be sure to enable the xmp profile for the ram in the bios. It will run ddr3 1600and ddr3 1866.

I5 2550k on MB with iGPUHowdy folks. I hope you are all doing well. I was wondering if someone could clear up a question I have been trying to find an answere to? I have an Intel i5 2550k but I want to replace my MB as it was hit by lightening and the GE LAN port is no longer working. I cant find the exact MB I am currently using but have found a local supplier that can give me a 1155 MB with integrated graphics. will this cause any issues with my 2550k as it has no IGPU? The specific MB is an Asus H61-M PRO. Thanks

TL;DR You'll be fine with the Asus H61-M PRO and using the GTX 460 for the display.I think I understand you. Just to clarify though that the board doesn't have an iGPU, the CPU does. Some chips have them (2500K) and some don't (2550K)Some boards support them (H61) and some don't (P67)Only if the board supports them and the chip has them will you be able to run a display without a dedicated graphics card. In your case the display ports on the mobo won't do anything, they certainly don't with my Z77 MPower and 2550K.
