i5-7600K
  • The i5-7600K has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
  • The i5-7600K has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.
  • For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU's with higher core count and lower core speed.
  • The i5-7600K has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.
  • The i5-7600K has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.
Athlon II X2 215
  • The Athlon II X2 215 has higher Level 2 Cache. Data/instructions which have to be processed can be loaded from the fast L2 and the CPU does not have to wait for the very slow DDR RAM
  • The Athlon II X2 215 is more power efficient and generates less heat.

Ryzen 7 1700X or i5-7600k for gaming?Which processor would be better for gaming and over clocking? I would be using a Geforce 1060 6gb graphic card with it, just want to know which processor would be better, thanks.

The 7600K would be faster in most games I think. I found this comparison video of a few games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTyYon4M11QBut rather than buy the 7600K now, I would wait for Coffee Lake supposedly to be released early October.

Oh yeah right, I just looked the 3440 lol... but then again... 3440x1440 isnt really 4k or 2k, its in a between with a sorta 21:9 ratio, regardless, its still a lot of stuff to render...and at such resolution with everything ultra-ed up... to me, 60 min to 80 max sounds about right... but lets see if someone else thinks differently.

Should I upgrade from a i5-7600k?I have a i5-7600k, gtx 1070 and 16 gb of ram, should I upgrade to something else for my cpu? It's been going at 100% in most my games while my gpu is at 70ish, I even overcoclocked it by 0.8 ghz.

i5 7600k Temperature Question?Overclocking my new build which has an i5 7600k. At the point of posting this I have managed 4.8GHz @ 1.2v with no issues. The temps at this point have reached a max of 63c. I have searched the interwebs pretty far and have seen that a good point would be 70c, so I'm assuming I'm able to raise the clock a good amount more. Is 70c what I should be going for? I5 7600 or I5 7600kHey,Currently in my system I have a G4560 and an Asus Prime B250m-A motherboard with 8GB 2400Mhz Ram. I was wondering, since my motherboard I believe doesnt support overclocking, which of the two processors, 7600 and 7600k, I should get as my upgrade. I never planned to overclock anyways. (Building a separate ryzen system I am going to overclock). The price difference where I am is minimal between the two and in stats it seems the 7600k would be the better coice overclocking or not (Difference in £10/$15) What are your thoughts? Greatly appreciate any feedback thanks.
